Wink First Step

Hi,
I would like to formally introduce my self, My name is hamza, from Peshawar Pakistan, Life over here is quite hard, harder than what might have been in Belfast during 1969

Mine will be the first roadster in Pakistan- for it have been surfing the net and read all about locost in the last almost one decade- finally managed to get Chris Gibbs book, "Build Your Own Sports Car on a Budget". Over the years I was unable to manage to import the book

At the moment am only able to get the 20x20 mm square 16 swg rectangular hollow steel sections, the 25x25 are available in 18 swg and getting 16 swg is becoming a nightmare Tomorrow will be contacting the factory who produce the 16 swg in limited quantity, lets see what they have to say.

I would specially thank Andrew Smailes and Tim Woodcock (Webmaster) in helping me register on this forum. Will be looking forward to help from you all, Unlike UK we can not buy complete cars from the Junk yards, we have access to used engines and parts that are smuggled into the country from the first world via Afghanistan- I know this will be a big challange

Looking forward to a sucessful build

Sincerely

Hamza

Wow, Sounds like you have a bit of a struggle on your hands but I think you will turn many many heads when your done.

Do you have to pass any safety inspection like our IVA before you can use the car?

TT

Hello Hamza and welcome,

looks like you have quite a challenge ahead of you, atleast you now know where to come for help and advice. 18swg 25mm box will be fine for your build, myself and HandyAndy use 2mm box section for the chassis builds and make for a stronger and stiffer chassis with better welds although sacrificing only a few extra kg's.

All the best....AndyH

On the brightside, I imagine you won't have any kind of SVA or have to deal with the DVLA.... so its not all bad.
