Clutch Cable Adjustment
I was making up my pedals today when I realised the Sierra clutch cable doesn't have an adjuster. Has anyone any cunning ideas on how to adjust?
I know older Fords, Escort MK2 etc had an adjuster on the cable and it adjusted down at the bell housing. But I'm not sure of the length. J |

I'd possibly look for an old escort or cortina cable
Edit: I've been told by a friend that the tone of the above is a tad sarcastic, that was not my intention at all. I recall that my cortina had an adjustable cable and thought it might be an alternative to the escort which would certainly do the job.

I got a mk1 or mk2 Capri cable from ebay, only about a fiver and really short, it has an adjuster and is perfect length with an eyelet on the pedal end, almost could have been made for the job!

Sounds useful drury, I'll have a look on ebay also, I'm at that stage of setting up my pedal box as well.

Part no is MCC1056/QCC1056, mine was from someone like autoclearance or similar on ebay?, it may go straight on, or it may need the plastic housing from the pedal end removing to gain a small amount, it depends how long you have made the tube coming out of the pedal box if you see what I mean, other than that it is made for the job, Cheers, Dennis.

Hi,
Firstly Landlocked (I dont know your name) I didnt find your remark at all sarcastic and Im very sarcastic very often so I wouldnt worry if I were you. secondly thats a good call on the clutch cable guys thirdly it might well be a good idea for us as a forum to start a thread or pehaps a sticky in wich we can quote part nos and donor cars of the usefull generic parts we find that fit the car well so as to help future builders ???
