bike rad
rite the, with regards to my lastpost, i cant get the rad i have to sit low enough in my nosecone SO i was lookin at what else i had, i have a gsxr1000 rad from a 2001 bike, now these bikes are serious bits of kit and im only running a 1600 pinto at the mo so my question is, would this be an adequate rad do we think or will it be too small and intefere with the flow too much????? cheers G

what rad have you got that won,t fit inside the nose?
as for the bike rad .....in my opinion i can,t see why it wouldn,t work, after all bike rads are very efficient for their size, & if you consider "how hard" the bike engine is worked when ridden hard etc, but thats just my opinion. or fit a clio rad as most folk do, approx £30 to £40 for a new one i believe. cheers andy

ive got a clio one, but the pipes line up perfectly with the chassis rails and the cottom of it is too wide to fit in the nose without bending it anyway. im using a gts nose which i dont suppose helps

ahhh as the nose is not one that i have seen then sorry i have no suggestions other than do you have enough space to lean the rad? i,ve read on another post about whether the angled outlet goes to the top or bottom, apparently it makes no odds to the workings of the rad so maybe you could reposition your clio rad
or try the bike rad. cheers andy

i did have it mounted rediculously high hence yesterdays post but as was pointed out to me this would have caused no end of problems so gave up on that one, think im goin with the bike rad. its also small enough to muunt in the engine bay and use the engine fan, any thoughts on wether this would be good enough or do i need electric??

I could be wrong but the thing that would worry me about the bike rad is capacity of it and the surface area it small compared with car rad and the engine is small in comparison as well.
You may get overheating problems and I would think it will run hot,as you mentioned above the aformentioned nose cone could be of different dimensions and not compatable with Haynes chassis. Electric fan and thermostat is one less thing to worry about. |
