I'm thinking about buying an engine stand now that i have the finances to buy one, but i have 1 question first.

Can you just put a block on an engine stand without the head etc? As all i am really wanting the stand for is to more easily clean/paint the engine and then aid in reassembly when i get to that stage. Cheers

engine stands are pretty universal in the way they hold an engine, they have a sliding bolt arrangement to allow different engines to fit on the stand so basically if you have 4 mounting points ( holes in the block ) to attach to then don,t see why it wouldn,t work, they certainly help when you start putting it back together

erm yes it does, i used the bolt holes from where the bellhousing attaches to the engine block, it takes a little jiggery pokery to find the balance point but once done its a piece of cake cheers andy |

Just bought one from Machine Mart for the garage £60 ish for the bigger one and as Andy say's just bolt through block holes, you may need some longer bolts.
