Default southwest uk roadster builders group/club

as above realy couple of us thinking of setting up an informal group to help each other out, tool share, meet up for a beer, go for days/drive outs (when your finished) and have a laugh with

to start off have no one person in charge
no member fees tho might raise some pennys for charity or somthing at some point (excuse to have some fun doing somthing) and see how it goes

pm me your details and i will make a note of everyone who is intersted and see how it goes from there

has even been talk of a build party to kick things off

baz-r,

sounds a reasonable idea.

I'm near Bournemouth, do I qualify or am I not Westerly enough?

Car not on road yet, probably 1-2 years off at my rate, it's taken me a year to get to a (nearly) fully welded chassis.

Would I be able to phone you when I breakdown in it near Exeter?

yes thats still the sw to me and you can call me i could charge you a reasonable fee for recovery we can call it club discount LOL!

im sure it would become tricky for everyone to meet all the time everyone so far apart so an idea i had would be to have local smaller meets more often
then organise bigger meets like say the exeter show etc.

i could get a chat room sorted somewhere down the line will be helpful

details given will NOT be posted in the forum

also a few people are saying after my car is finished
point i would like to make is my car is not finished. it is a builders and owners club/group so you dont need to have your car finished
its more of a thing to chat have a laugh help each other out and have fun
of corse you can arive in your car so we can all dribble over it and there will be drive outs for thoes that have finished
you could always take one of the other members in the spare seat, or the wife if she cant trust you to be out on your own

How about ideas for a local venue for a meet, I reckon the Haynes Museam at Yeovil is a good starting point, if its a nice sunny day, its not a bad place for other builders in both Devon & Dorset to get too. I also think it should not be limited to the SW and or anyone who fancies a day out. Where better to kick start things. They often have other club events at weekends. Maybe we could combine a first meet with another event so that there is lots to see, and if numbers are low we will not be rattling around!

It way even be possible to get the day listed as "The Haynes Roadster Builders Day" on the website to attract more interest.

I have a great image of a row of completed roadsters lined up outside the entrance!

You also have the fleet air arm museam just a few miles down the road, just in case we run out of things to look at, discuss and keep it lively.

Anyone interested or have other ideas?
