![]() Hello all!
My steering extension is 1mm away from the engine crossmember so I'm going to have route it a different way. What I'm thinking is going down the center chassis rail parallel with the engine to a rose joints. Then going upto the steering column? Would I also need a rose joints for this part? It would mean I have to have a total of 2 u joints and 1 column connector. |

![]() Should all work fine, I mounted my rose joint screwed into a block welded onto the off engine mount, with a grub screw to prevent it turning. Loads of photos on the flicker if its helps. Are you at the show this year?

![]() If the steering column is mounted on the engine mount how do you stop the movement of the engine from either bending the shaft or causing stress fractures on the welded joins? Besides the vibration through the steering wheel it could lead to some thing being sheared off while doing some important like erm ...... steer?

![]() I am with Talon on that one. I really don't think that putting a column bracket on the engine mount is safe. It may never be a problem but do you really want to find out when you are flat out on long bend?!
