Default Fibreglass repair

Hi all

I bought my rear arches 6 years ago, finally got round to fitting them (this project has been dragging a bit!)

There are some large cracks, where I assume air bubbles have propagated? There are also various other hairline cracks. Can anyone suggest how I should go about fixing these?

I also recently painted my first fibreglass panel - the scuttle. It wasn't until the primer went on that I noticed a small crack. I decided to press on with painting however because at this stage I'm not too bothered, I just want to car on the road! For future reference however, how should I go about fixing this?

Thanks!
Josh

Would that have been saturn nts or Gillham that you got them off

The rear arch I would just dremel the damage out down to the glass and filler and paint or buy another pair

The part with the stress cracks get yourself some matching gel coat

Lightly sand the area with some 400grit

Wipe the area with the wifes acetone for remOving her nail tips (I can give you a link to buy her more

Dremel a very groove to open out the cracks down to the glass then mix up some gel and carefully spread into the cracks leaving slightly proud

Cover with parcel tape (sticky side down) it's not a joke trust me it helps the gel harden up properly

Remove tape and flatten back getting finer in grit till you get to 1200grit (I go to 2000grit) then Polish and buff the area to bring back the shine

Or buy some more arches and panels off me lol

Hope that helps

They were from Triton, aka Fabbyglass I believe.

Thanks for your suggestions, I will give it a go and see how I get on.

If all else fails, I may just buy a new pair from you...!

Cheers
Josh
