I hope you have not welded straight on top of the black scale of the tube and that it has been given a 45' weld prep on all the joints.

You might want to remove TR5 though, I'm pretty sure it interferes with the intake manifold on the MX5 engine.

I'll be lifting the frame over the engine tomorrow so i'll whip out TR5 if its catching

Rolled over and welding the underneath and hidden welds.

When SSC releases their updated build guide I'll start welding the CP plates on

I wouldn't recommend putting the frame over the engine. It will go, but it's a total pig. It's very tight and will only fit over at a funny angle.
If you do go that way whip the exhaust manifold and the intake support bracket off before you start - it's a lot harder to remove them whilst holding the chassis above the engine with your other hand
