Default A new toy to build?

While looking for DIY plans for possible other products (worth a try right?) I came across this on ebay, I thought about building a kart frame over the top and hope to sell it as the latest craze...

Ride on model tanks for posh kids? Just bolt on one of daddys 12 bores... Obviously you'd need to be posh, a toy like that would require a large back garden...

That is quite a cool project.

I am thinking of Sherman Tank chassis

Build your own Sherman Tank on a budget, got quite a good ring to it.

Default Leopard tank

I was looking on YouTube today and found this....

Was wondering where you would get the tracks from?

Saturn MX5 Based Chassis, Limited Slip Diff & 2.4 Quick Rack.

Build cost.... seems to be spending more on tools than car bits at the moment! (they will be handy in the future though).
Car iva'd and passed 15/08/2014. Finished weight 572kg.

Has the 'locost' and 'Roadster' ethos not taught you any thing? If you can't buy one cheap enough how little can you make it for, if you can't find one the right size modify one to fit.
I'd be very surprised if those tracks are not just fabricated ali or steel sections that use bolts as pivot points that had been made on a simple jig.

Those tracks are not expensive to buy new. I have one of those small tracked wheelbarrows a bit like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HINOWA-HP8...item337ec2b38c and replacement tracks for that were only £200 each. When you look at the price of a decent tyre for a car thats not bad.
