Cheap Tyres

Went to do a car boot on Sunday, coming home at 60MPH in my lightly loaded van and I hear the biggest explosion this side of Iraq followed by the van slewing across the road. Here's what my tyre now looks like


Tried to get the wheel off but somehow the brace was a 22mm instead of 24 so had to call the breakdown people out.
the tyre was a cheap Delfin brand, the guys at the tyre shop had never seen anything like it apart from on lorry tyres.
Looks like a false economy to me, imagine what that would have done to a fibre glass wing
