rs2000 engine

what ho chaps.
whilst waiting for the insurance to cough up after my break in,i have started to reconsider the possible engine choices again.
i like the idea of bike engine performance but also car engine torque.
the fella next door has a rs 2000 dohc escort engine 150 bhp standard for sale,is this a viable choice?or should i go zetec or bike or alfa or!!!!!!!
to many choices and to much time on my hands thanks to the robbing gits who broke into and emptied my garage.
