Default Would this work?

I have a pair of twin weber 40's that I would like to use with my 1.8 CVH. I bought a Inlet manifold but it is for a 1.6 and they aren't quite the same, the water port is in a different place and the ports are a different shape.

What I would like to do is use the cut the flange off the original manifold like this.

and cut the flange off the 1.6 CVH Manifold like this

then weld the original manifold flange to the new manifold.

They seem to line up quite well but I would have to clean up the inside of the ports to get a nice flow. You can see the difference on this picture.
