Default Steering column support frame

Has anyone got any tips or extra measurements for the steering column support?

No matter how many times i measure it, I just can't seem to get everything lined up. Are the plates supposed to sit flat against it? Or just meet at the top and weld it on??

Anyone got any close up pics which might help??

It's the first bit of my chassis that doesn't want to fit.

Best bit so far: Getting it running
Worst bit so far: Cutting steel for wishbones and engine mounts.
Most annoying bit so far: Generator packing up half way through welding.
