Default Engine Heater Hose - Help

I am using the Cologne V6 2.8I Engine.

I have removed the heater matrix from the orginal Sierra and and I have linked the flow and return hoses. Is it likely to cause any harm to the engine if I remove this link hose and cap it off with an ali plug on the top and bottom of the engine? I assume its just a secondary hose off the radiator circuit, although it does not appear to run via the thermostat.

Any help appeciated as the exisiting pipe is to near the braided fuel lines and I would like to remove it this weekend in preparation for the first test drive!
