Default mounting confusion

been having a play with the engine and gearbox mounts today trying to get the engine in the right place and im confused.

the diff sits central to the transmission tunnel so would have thought the gearbox would line up with the diff. anyways pictures say more than words.

the engine seems to be too far to the nearside of the car but i cannot move it over because of the clutch mechanism.

should the flange on the gearbox line up with the flange on the diff or is the offset ok? the offset is measured roughly at 10mm

any help or advice much appreciated

Ta Very Much
