Default trailer axles?

does anyone know about trailer axles and extending them? recently acquired the below for £100 delivered and am planning on turning it into a car transporter. unfortunately the wheels are too close together was originally going to put some spacers on the wheel but these would need to be 75mm each which would play havoc with the wheel bearings so the only other option without adding loads of weight would be to extend the axles. does anyone know if this is possible with this type of axle? and how much work it would take? don't want to spend a fortune on it so...

any advice much appreciated

Edit: found a little info on google but not 100% if it applies to this kind of axle, dont want to start cutting and something go wrong if they have a torsion bar in the middle.

Ta Very Much
