Got to say that i build my own tank from mild steel 2 years ago to similar to the book dimemsions.
Painted in red oxided and hammerite and it looks just as good as it did the day it was fitted and was pretty cheap compared to buying an aluminum one. Thinking about it now, the only change i would consider would be larger.
