Default Gear Monkey's Build Blog

Today myself and Kitch took our 1st steps to building our Roadsters by cutting out all the 90 degree cut sections of the 25x25mm and 25x50mm, so not a great deal done but a job done well nonetheless.

Fortunately we have at our disposal lots of space and as we're both engineers we just about have between us have all the tools to do a really nice job.

All cuts made to within a 0.10" (0.25mm) and perfectly square

I also practiced making the front frame uprights that require a 26 degree notch removing and then bending to form the correct angle. I made 2 13 degree cuts using the disc saw in the picture (awesome bit of kit) and it worked perfectly on an off cut so far easier than expected.

All in all a good few hours work. If all goes to plan by the end of February we'll have two professional standard chassis ready and waiting to be fitted out.

Updates and pictures to follow soon
