Pedal Box design...?!?

I have fabbed the std pedal box design out of the box but it looks a bit naff (due to my skills not necessarily the design)

I modelled the original design in CAD and then kept the hole centres but replaced the 'PBx' plates with tube instead.... any reason why this wouldn't work?
