Default Two years in and .....

She lives. Yehaaa. And started first turn of the key too. What a rush.
Two litre zetec running on standard ECU. The chassis is still on castors but I wanted to get the engine started first. Few things to do such as find some exhaust gasket material for the none standard flange and odds and sods and then the engine will be taken out to concentrate on all the other stuff that needs doing.

Fings wot I learned today.

If you take out the thermostat because you want a straight through flow for testing, water will p#ss all over the place because the seal is on the thermostat not the housing.

Getting the wires the wrong way round on the crank sensor plug will make the ECU think the crank sensor isn't there at all and not give you a spark.

If you decide to make a whole new loom for a zetec running original ECU then wear a hat. It means you can't get at your hair to pull it all out.
