Default MX5 Diff Mount

Fitted the diff last night, is the 205 measurement correct, it looks to me like the drive shafts will be point forward.

I also note that the front of the diff is not central to the transmission tunnel, is this correct?

Thanks

Dave

what plans are you using? i am using a talon chassis kit and yes the drive flange is offset slightly and shafts point forward a bit. you need to take into account the sliding movement of the cv joints with suspension travel

Default MX5 Diff Mounts

Thanks Richard, I'm using the Saturn Plans so I know it's different.

Dave

On the Saturn plans the driveshafts do point forward a bit. Have a look through the various threads of completed cars as the diff nose mount on those plans isn't strong enough.

Saturn MX5 Based Chassis, Limited Slip Diff & 2.4 Quick Rack.

Build cost.... seems to be spending more on tools than car bits at the moment! (they will be handy in the future though).
Car iva'd and passed 15/08/2014. Finished weight 572kg.

I'll second that.
Having the diff mount fail and snap the diff in two isn't much fun!
