Retaining front lip of bonnet
Hi all,
I have a pair of aero latches to hold down the back of my bonnet. Has anyone had any success building a 'tongue & groove' between the nose-cone trailing edge and bonnet leading edge? Failing that, I'll just use a second pair of aero latches at the front... Thanks! Josh |

The equinox nose cone / bonnet has tongue and groove connection but I wouldn't trust it past a location device to line the two up.
Much better to have a locking device because once wind gets underneath it's taking off !

I've got catches front and back on mine. I had an oh shit moment last year when I had only do up one side. The bonnet tried to come off at 60mph.
They still held though. |

I have 4 over center catches on mine as well,
one thing I have noticed though is that once all is hot, there appears to be some "bonnet spread" not really sure how other to describe it but it has been enough to pop a catch while driving.... so whilst doing the mods I am going to put a couple of locating pins in the top rail and corresponding locating holes in the bonnet return lip to prevent this Just to clarify I should have added I have a Gillham bonnet Gary

Hi !
I have a pair of bonnet Locating Pins on my Equinox bodywork, they work like a charm. Much neater, lighter, cheaper, easy to fit, than another pair of latches in my humble opinion. They are available from Kit Spare http://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php...rch=bonnet+pin 2014-08-22_14-27-55 by Sylvain ROIG, sur Flickr
