What gauges
Hi,
It has come to the time to upgrade from my Sierra instrument panel to individual gauges. Has anyone got any suggestions ? Peter Last edited by Peter-C : 11th June 2020 at 11:20 AM. |

There is a big thread for inspiration on locostbuilders:

I picked up a business card from Digital Speedos (https://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/) at Stoneleigh several years ago, because I was impressed by the set of gauges they had on display. When you put the ignition on all the needles did a full sweep of the gauges - I nearly parted with cash on that basis alone!

A full needle sweep is more or less standard for any digital gauge, although usually one would only expect it after a battery replacement.
Many gauges now use these stepper motors with drive circuitry over older technologies, the cost of the stepper motor and its drive circuit is now just a couple of pounds... It's got me thinking, I have had a lot of PCB's done over the last few months for a number of projects.. A digital dash is EASY, but one with real dials would be fun.... you could even make it act like a Hi-Fi VU meter for your stereo when the ignition is off... TT
