Default Wiring loom basics

Does anyone have a really simple generic wiring diagram for a car? I'm thinking of building something from scratch but looking for some reference points to start from.

Cheers,
JH

A nice find is that one GM

Perfect example of how simple the electrical systems can be if broken down into smaller segments.

Not nearly as scary as looking at a full wiring diagram.

Nice one GM - that's exactly what I want. I'm pretty cool with car electric to be honest with the exception of the ignition/charging part of the system and those diagrams give me exactly what I need.
