John it might be worth thnking about
as it will have the bigger front discs and discs at the rear
you could sell/swop the mt75 gearbox for a type 9 and you should be all square on the deal just your engine of choice to source as you can use the column and h/brake so its not a bad option

What really grabbed me about the vehicle was that it was running, had a full service history and alloy wheels so I thought it would be great donor to also get an age related plate.
You've now got me thinking again. It's my first build and the info deezee gave was great but the cut steel would be different from the kit supplied by armoto. Maybe I should have a word with them?

what size are the alloy wheels?

as they need to be 15inch alloys to clear the rear lower wishbone bolts.
just thought it might help in some way

John before you get to worried or wade in
speak to axle on here he has put a twinky (8 valve ford twin-cam) in it has caused him a few problems but he has got it in
as for the Armoto kit they might supply one with the variations for the mt75 but it would only be a £10 of box you would have to buy and chop up yourself
the zetec out of a mondeo/escort would also go on an mt75 box
in all honesty i think the zetec is a better engine to use
do a bit of research and make your own mind up but , the zetec is easier to to tune and get bits for and as said before that car is not a bad donor really

Dunno why folk slate them my toolita xr4 beastie goes like a complete loon for a 19 year old 140,000+miler....cheap tyres make it more fun too

i agree with that mark
before we broke ours for the roadster we a good bit of fun with it
a really good motor ......but you cant do much with it and if you ever get the chance of a blast in a 1800 escort zetec or a 2.0l mondeo you will straight away be able to notice the difference its just better and a bit more revvy and abit more smoother and picks up that little bit better and then all the bits to make it go better and to get it run in stand alone format are available really easy and off the shelf etc
also me and Tj can lift the zetec in and out of our chassis the twinky would need bigger cahoonas than we have got
