Default is anyone else using an m44 from a bmw?

are there any mods that need to be made to the chassis for this engine, i only have the engine not the rest of the car

Seems to me like what you need to do is to get the appropriate gearbox and fit it to the engine, then position the unit in the chassis and make gearbox and engine mountings to suit. There are bound to be some modifications needed.

If possible, carry out this exercise before you build the gearbox tunnel.

As I have mentioned in some other post, we are using M42 which is identical engine to M44 but it has slightly more power, 129 lb·ft vs. 133 lb·ft, we are using original 5 speed transmission with it, except the changes in foot tunnel (we made them symmetrical, same size) we didn't do any changes, only moved it a bit forward, but there is a lot of space to move it forward, we have LHD car, so it should work for you as well without any problems
