Sierra front calipers

I seem to recall there being a thread about whether original Sierra calipers would pass the new IVA Test, but I can`t find it now.
Does anyone know anything about this? I think it may have been something to do with protruding past the rim?, I don`t want to spend time & money cleaning/stripping mine if they`re no use etc.,
