Depends how much refurb you intend to do on your donor.

I got one on fleabay for about £7 inc postage

It has been helpful for me, I am about to refurb a set of rear brake calipers.

I don't have a donor though, am buying the bits I need/want

I'd say a definite yes - very handy for checking things out, how bits come apart - what that bit was for etc.

I got my copy for £2 on a stall at the Kemble steam fair

i,d say yes ,
which engine do you have ? i bought my first manual but didn,t realise it doesn,t cover the cvh engine so i had to buy another
so now i have spare one if you,re not using the cvh.

well some of the manuals don,t cover the CVH engine, but most other stuff like running gear all seems to be covered regardless of which engine you have, thats how i realised i,d bought the wrong one originally

cheers
andy

That's interesting, I've got an older manual and it covers the OHC and CVH models - very confusing when you flip to the wrong chapter
