Cable Nipple
Hi All,
daft question - what nipples do people recommend for the hand-brake cable. Soldering type or solderless/screw???? Just want to get it right the first time. |

I think there's pro's and cons to both. On my handbrake I have made large screw type nipples and I have smaller ones on my pedals. I have a soldered one on one end of my clutch cable and the beggar came off last week alomost leaving me completely stranded. Top tip to remember is that if you use solder type, remember to flare the end out when it's in the nipple and then add the solder.

I made my own from a piece of small bar,
I drilled out the center, countersunk it. then flaired the cable and put a blob of weld on it. All steel so worked ok.. David |

Cheers Fellas,
I've ordered a solderless one, but will probably stick some solder in for good measure. |
