Spacing of P Clips
Hi Folks, just started doing by brake pipes, fuel pipes and wiring to the back of the car. The only reference I can find in the IVA manual regarding distances between fixings is in the electrical section where it suggests 300mm. I thought the fixings down the tunnel had to be much closer together - can anyone throw any light on this?
Thanks in advance, Enoch. |

Has to be 150mm down the transmission tunnel Dave. If you can also make sure the no pipes are touching rails or gearbox when its moved on mounts (top will move a fair bit). Plus entry and exit points to tunnel need to be clear of anything, if in doubt split some rubber tube and fit round copper pipe to protect it.
The above will be fine....>AndyH

Thanks chaps, I will stick to about every 6 inches then Seems about right to me anyway but thought I could perhaps put a few less along the tunnel. I went to the HandyAndy school of economics
Thanks again, Dave. |

when it comes to economics maplin is your friend. They do big bags of them for around a £1. They have plenty of different sizes to cope with everything

Hi Ash, I went for the stainless ones with the rubber insert. I think the Maplin plastic ones would probably have worked just as well and been a lot cheaper. I got lucky though as I bought my ones at 30 for 3 quid
PS, I saw your car in CKC today - quite an inspiration! |

I am sure it looks just as good as that, you have done a stellar job. I can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Photoshop's great isn't it......
Didn't recognise my car in TKC, they always look better in fotos instead of close up after 6000 furious miles. Gotta start cleaning mine up ready for Stoneleigh. One crate of RedBull ordered for next week....

Well you can't polish a turd A decent photographer will always bring out the best but even David Bailey could not make Susan Boyle look like Lady Gaga
Tis a mighty fine looking vehicle ( your car - not Susan Boyle) and if mine comes out anywhere near it I will be well chuffed. Best and all that, Enoch |
