Hi Terry, Im Tony the chop and trike builder that used to be around on bideford quay thursday evenings
If you need a hand with anything just gimme a yell , if your building up westward ho way then Im literally 2 minutes away up the hill. I have spent about a month sourcing the best quality/value parts that I could find for building the back end of one of these Im building a bike trike using the roadster wishbones, uprights etc Tony Last edited by Tony : 20th May 2010 at 10:46 AM. |

Copied and pasted this from an earlier posting by me on how to make the jigs a little easier to use.
There is a much easier way of making a steel jig that will do all wishbones and it uses less than 2mtrs of 25x25 and 500mm of 19x19. It's a basic rectangle made to the biggest wishbone that being the lower rear. Put your bush tubes in place on a flat surface and use the 19box as a straight clamp bar top and bottom. I use cheap G clamps as weld splatter tends to stick to the threads. As it's a backless jig you'll be able to turn the jig over and weld the other side with out unclamping it. For the top wish bones simply weld another tube lower down, clamp the bush tubes in place as before and tack the threaded tubes in place. link below to pic of what I'm trying to say http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/attac...0&d=1263585690

Hi Tony,
It's been a while since i've seen you down the quay,as it happens, i am building my car in my lock-up in Westward Ho! AS for the wishbones, i've cheated. I have ordered them already made up from 3ge down in Honiton, as the wishbones are visible and my welding is not the neatest around, i thought i would get them done these guys. Terry |
