Measurement Question
Can someone please help i'm looking through the book and on Page 173 "Roll bar attachment and upper damper bracket CP3 and CP4"
On the base plate it shows RS15 in front of the shock bracket what are the distances either side of RS15. Also can you confirm what the dotted lines mean on the little drawing? Thank you Dean |

This isn,t easy to explain in writing so please bear with me
with the book open on page 173, looking at the "pencil" drawing...... The long dotted line that you see ( along the 227mm length ) is SB2 looking thru the plate ( as in xray eyes) CP3, so that length of steel is already in place on the chassis. The shorter dotted line ( along 150mm length ) is in fact RS15 that needs to be welded under the top plate, the square dotted line is the upper shock bracket position. The long dotted line along the top of this drawing is set at 3mm from the edge, which is to ensure that CP6 is welded flush with the CP3. Basically the pencil drawing on this page is the passenger side CP3 Roll bar/upper shock mounting "Box". when welding it all together make sure that the center line of the actual upper shock bracket is 97mm from the forward leading edge of CP3( which is also the front leading edge of SB2 underneath it), other wise if you weld it in the wrong way you won,t get a nut on the bolt holding the upper shock mounting....... The other side ( drivers side ) is in opposite hand. I hope this isn,t too long winded & hope it helps..... Take your time on this section, its easy to get it wrong . cheers andy |
