Default Fog Light Switch

Morning

I have been putting together a bit of a diagram for my wiring, whilst tallying what I am doing against the IVA manual.

My question is; Does the Fog Light switch itself need to be illuminated, or is it OK just to have it marked as the fog light, with the correct symbol.

My dash will have a fog light tell-tale for when it is illuminated.

Cheers

I read it as being you must have a clearly identified tell tale light and a clearly identified switch. If the two of these are combined then that is acceptable.

So in your case - as long as the switch is marked and your tell-tal on the dash is marked you should be ok.

If your looking at wiring diagrams you may be interested in the ones i've been working on and If you've got any comments I would be interested in hearing them.

Cheers for that. A further look at the IVA manual brought this up from section 28

"9. Either the switch or tell tale must clearly indicate that operation relates to the Rear Fog lights. (see Note 1).

Note 1: This may be achieved by a pictogram (see section 33) or a word type format, the tell tale may be any colour providing it cannot be confused with any other tell tale"

So, a normal switch, with the pictogram on it, plus the dash mounted tell tale (yellow with a pictogram) although that depends on the dash I go for.

Actually, as I am thinking of the Koso dash (which doesn't have a fog light indicator) I will just use an illuminated switch.

Cheers

Tell Tale as far as MOT regs is normally illuminated, probably save you hassle for IVA if it's the same ie lights up when on.
You can always change it later to suit yourself.
Long time no hear hows the build going ?
Dont forget to take the feed from dip and main and not sidelights.

Build is slow, just doing the odd bit on it when I have the time. Chassis is all done and painted, basically a rolling chassis. Keeping an eye out for an Engine, early (pre 95) 1.8l Zetec if you happen to spot one
