Thanks for the information.
Not sure of the year yet, Off to see it next weekend and can get some more details then. So far I've just been told its a 2.0L DOHC 4wd Sierra, had to work the rest out myself! Sounds like theres a bit more altering/more parts needed from using this car but the better brakes and other gubbins make it worth the effort. I'll let you know when I've been to see/collect it! |

89> For a DOHC ( not V6 ) and will be EFI.
There are no Seel sumps for DOHC's so you will have to MOD an ally one. Because of the design of the DOHC 4x4 sump, you may ge away with modding that ratehr than getting a 2wd one to alter. I may be after a few bits for my XR if you do get it. Cheers TT

Hi guys,
I've been to see, and bought, the car. I've got a donor vehicle! I've also found out a bit more about it: Ford Sierra 4X4 Ghia EstateUnfortunately the interior is completely wrecked, it was used for storing feed at one point and the rats got in! (sorry Spikehaus) The bodywork is nearly perfect so if anyone needs some panels (Bonnett, doors, etc) in the south west then send them to me! It will probably be easiest for me to simply swap the engine/ gearbox for a 2wd version (preferably working). So, again, if anyone knows a good place to start looking, please let me know. All feedback apreciated, cheers guys Oscar |

Assuming that they're no good for the roadster of course! |

Hi Oscar,
My interior was completly rotten and eaten as way as well, I found it on ebay for £130. It had been in barn for 7 years, then the owners son decided to strip it of its easy to remove interior parts! Still a cracking buy, got £450 back on the parts I did not use, and that excluding the body that I gave away. If you need any help using or stripping it let me know. Nick PS, just noticed you are in Bristol! Maybe we can meet up when you get your build underway. We have a flat in St Annes so are up that way sorting the tenants.

Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on it!
I intend to start work on the Chassis around Christmas time, as soon as I've got the money for the steel! Being a student does have a few drawbacks... When I start the build It'll mostly be done down at my Parents, they live on a farm in south Somerset. Plenty of room and tools, just need to avoid all the manure! |
