Selling / Scrapping the donor
Hi guys I'm just wondering what documents I need to keep for proof of my donor as someone has asked to buy the shell to make a stock car? Is it just the slip off the registration document I have to keep as proof that I had the car and then sold it?

chop out the chassis numbers, remove the plates, keep the v5.

If you wish to try for an age related number plate once your build is on the road, you will need to keep the donors entire registration document ( V5C )
You will need then need to keep your donor on SORN until you are ready to register your build. By all means sell the shell for use as a stock car .... But purely on the understanding that the shell will not come with any documents nor any VIN numbers left on the shell !!?? If on the other hand, you don't mind a Q registration, just keep a photocopy of the V5C for your records.

Yep what Ash said but why insist on an age related plate anyway? Q plates are no big deal these days and kit car insurance firms know the score.
Makes me laugh when folk build Cobras and insist on age related plates...yeah like that's going to make folk think it's a real one...doh! |
