If anybody is interested in a MSA compliant cage with side and rear impact protection specifically built for the Roadster let me know as we are currently talking to a local maker of cages to fit one to the Teamtrain/Saturn race car currently running in Northern Spotrs and Saloon series.

Wont be cheap but will be the dogs bits and first time fit.

Default Roll Bar

Hi Deanno,

The roll bar looks good, I am planning on doing the same thing but with 50 x 50 mm box steel tube. Is there any chance you can give me the dimensions you used for the 5 main pieces?

Regards

John

Talking segment bends

If you have spare tube it might be worth doing a segment bend.

A bit more time consuming but a bit nearer a production bend.

Question What thread

The threads for harness mounts on the roll bar need to be 7/16th imperial according to the book.
However I'm sure I fitted 7/16 unf for the lower mounts .
Some advice please before I fit the wrong stuff:confused

You are correct they should be unf (fine pitch thread)
I asked for 7/16 in my local bolt shop and got coarse, they were a bitch to remove and change for fine nuts after I fully welded the plates in.

Sorry for hijacking your post Deanno

Its ok re unf threads

Ive got some harnesses with bolts provided but I need the threaded inserts to weld in to make the harness brackets . I was confused because the book says
7/16 imp.

I need to find some 7/16 unf threaded inserts to weld in.

Cheers
Adrian
