Default GRP Boot lid

Hi guys,

After many many hours of swearing and frustration i have finally managed to create a half descent looking boot lid. I had to destoyed my mould releasing it because i didnt wax it enough but i can soon take another one from it. Its not far from finished but still requires a lot of rubbing inside the tub part to get rid of all the bits of mould, should really have waited until its finished to post up pics but im like a dog with two willies after the day iv had (everything went well for a change on the build ). Im probably going to make a small lid, or just a cargo net to cover the boot. It wont take a weekly shop by any means, but it will take a good sized tool kit. Many many thanks to Andy at saturn for the advice and materials, your a star. Any way heres a few pics....

As it came out of the mould, with half of it still stuck to it.....

After hours of rubbing with many more to go( ignore position of left rear arch its not bolted on)...

Trimmed, top painted and test fitted, but still needs alot of rubbing....

Thanks,

Nathan

That's a great idea Nathan, and looks good to me - well done!

Cheers

Well done, looks great, why did nobody do it before? Will you make a lid over it, or just strap things down?

I just had the traditional type of cover made, she fitted a zip to allow access to the fuel tank, finished the rear ali this weekend so that I could try it out. Just need a few clips poppers to hold it down.

Keep up the great work, I wish I could do GRP work,

Does any one else have any good ways to enclose the rear?
