As for the propshaft, surely if the weld is totally uniform, and profile is pretty flat, it should be fine. (given that its tacked on straight!!!! lol). Whats everyone else's thoughts? (sorry for the thread hijack!)

Its not worth skimping on propshafts. I had one go on a Cobra replica fortunately i was in traffic at about 20 mph and the thing decided to go downwards when it broke loose just gouging a dent in the tarmac rather than in me or the passenger. As it happens this wasnt due to to welding - the cv joint went due to Pilgrim's strange design which ran the propshaft at an absurd angle to cater for the heavilly off centre Granada rear diff putting the prop under constant strain.

Dunning and fairbank did my type 9 one for £145
It was the uprated one for 200 odd brake, ordered on a monday turned up on the wednesday The standard power one will be a bit cheaper |

I had a quote from Dunning & Fairbanks yesterday,
Sierra diff to a type 9 box £115+ VAT+Delivery as applicable Delivery 5-7 days at the moment. Terry

Well, Ive ordered a chassis..... From one of the vendors on here, A vodou vr5 chassis and wishbones etc.... Phil, sounds like a top bloke... Even though my long list of questions was errr long!
I should hopefully have it in a couple of weeks.... I can't wait... Its like christmas all over again! stuart. |
