Pinto Plumbing
I've got round to looking at the cooling system.
How have people gone about getting the correct shaped hoses to connect the rad (polo) to the engine. I've got the original hoses and the top fits (just) but the bottom is no where near. Also what thread is the thermo fan switch on the rad (is it 92deg?). It's for a 1.8L pinto if that makes any difference. Last edited by SeriesLandy : 7th April 2012 at 02:58 PM. |

I went to the plumbers merchants and sorted out the bends then found some straight lengths of proper size tubing or hose and joined them using jubilee clips may not be correct but no one said any different so i went ahead

I got a switch cheap off ebay for my polo rad. It looks like the switch is standard across a range of cars and years.
Also bought the polo top and bottom hose set (they are joined together with a little bypass) to start me off then had to join up using reducers. Last edited by ayjay : 7th April 2012 at 05:52 PM. |

I had a little play this evening and would this seem a sensible route?
I just need to buy some 32mm couplers now. Also should the header tank be tapped into the bottom hose, or just off the top hose and vent for the rad? |
