Need a measurement
I have gone off piste with my hubs/wheels etc and need a measurement. What i could do with is the measurement from the face of the rear wheel hub at ride height to the body tub. Needs to be quite accurate <sierra based>
Bob edit. Please

apologies for a slightly late reply, was waiting for it to stop raining
I hope this is the correct measurement for you Bob............. I,ve measured the ride height with all 4 wheels on the ground, then jacked it up, removed wheel & the brake drum, then lowered the car & putting compression on the rear upright / suspension to the original ride height.........so as to get as close as I could to the measurement you need. from the face of the hub( where the studs are ) to the GRP of the rear tub under the wheel arch is 205mm. Sorry for the long winded reply but wanted to explain how I got that measurement so you could possibly work from that etc. HTH cheers andy

Cheers for that andy. The reason I needed to know that was I got these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:RTQ:GB:1123 the other day and the rears are exactly 10" wide and I was hoping to get them in the standard rear arch. That dimension puts the inside edge of the tyre 40mm off the body so I have to shorten the bones a bit or get some slightly wider wings. Bob

Hi bob.
Just be aware that the measurement i have given is taken from the hub face with brake drum removed. Nice wheels. Why not make a spacer for the rear wing following the curve of the wing so it is placed between the wing and rear tub side, paint it to match etc and maybe it wouldn't be too obvious. Just a thought.....i.d rather do that than shorten the bones.....confused now lol. Cheers Andy

Making wishbones shorter just to fit fancy wheels is not the way to go, make your arches wider as this won't alter geometry unlike messing with suspension.

Dont forget the driveshafts.......they will still be the same size.
