Default spring assistors

Hi All
I know my car is sitting a bit too low so i found a site making spring assistors to make the car ride higher from the ground,Has anyone used these before

What type of coilovers are you using? I'm using the protech ones and i just screwed the collar type thing up more with a c spanner to get a higher ride height.

I looked at the stock jag shock but there are a few problems. the first one which is quite important is that there are no bump stop rubbers in there to bottom out on as the jag has bump stop rubbers on the subframe, secondly there is no form of adjustment in terms of shock, there is also no means of adjusting the spring . Saying that you could pull them apart and split a rubber cone and fit that for a bump stop, you could also get the correct spring rate and fit that or pack the spring you have to gain ride height. Shock rate might if you are lucky be bang on. Maybe. But those rubber strips that you wrap round the coils to assist a spring are shite, packind via spacers would be a better job. All of the above applies to the standard jag rear shock ,I dont know if the after market jobs differ.

Hi Bob can you explain more on the packing of the spring as i just know nothing about this and cant afford to buy new ones

The above is an aftermarket jag shock to show how they come apart, all you will need is a spacer ring made up the same diameter as the spring and re assemble . I would hazard a guess and say that if anymore than 15mm in a spacer is needed it would need proper springs purchased instead. I cant find anywhere what the jag rears have as a spring rate for all I know it might be close.

I have just found out they are approx 200lbs which is to far short to pack or assist. best to buy some springs of the right poundage. Still a big saving over spax or protech.
