Driveshaft Length
Can anyone tell me how long I should make my driveshaft? Do I make this the exact distance between the gearbox and the diff or do I make it a bit shorter to allow for engine movement etc. If so how much should I allow for movement.
Thanks David

I think you mean propshaft, its the length between the diff flange and the rear of the box where the oil seal is,Comercial Propshafts on the valley will do one for about £120.
Movement is not an issue as the sliding/shiny part at the front is normally to take into account a live axle/solid axle and the Roadster one is fixed so not a problem. I am only in Gateshead if you get stuck.

You need a little bit of sliding action in order to fit the flange on the diff. IIRC ~1 cm is ok.

Thanks for the quick responses. I did mean propshaft (was having a stupid moment)
I spoke to cps on teams and they said they would shorten and balance my mx5 one for 35 pounds which isn't bad David

You just went into American mode - they call a prop a driveshaft and a driveshaft a halfshaft
