mx5 roadster wishbone tube size/type
Abit new to this and I think this has probably been answered before, but search doesnt seemto work right.
Can anybody help From the book it says to use cds/cfs seamless tube, but what wall size ? I can get 1" and 3/4x16g (1.6 wall) but is this strong enough for the wishbones. Found a few posts some using ERW tube with 2mm wall but not really a definite answer Cheers Andy |

Every other kit manufacturer uses ERW tubing for it's wishbones, CDS was stated in case any body just picked up any old length of material not knowing what it was and used it to make the wishbones. Just think what would happen if you found out that you had used leaded tube or a bit of old hover hose?
25x2mm and 20x2mm ERW will be fine to use I've made over 300 sets and not had any reports of breakages.

Cheaper oh yes indeed 25x2mm ERW is about £12 for 6mtr as where CDS is £32 for 3mtr.
