Steering column route
When I was at Newark the other day, I noticed that a lot of other seven type cars run the steering column above what we know as TR8 (bearing mounted above). this moves the column up, possibly preventing contact with engine mounts or the front upright "U1 or U2".
Just wondering if this is possible on the Haynes as I'm about to mount engine and steering column position and the extra options may be handy as hoping to use the zetec standard inlet. |

That's exactly what I was thinking and that's the same bearing I have.
You're right, I've seen so many different ways that it gets confusing. Oh well, I will see how I get on and might even come up with some other random way of mounting it. |

I am thinking of mounting it like that but wasn't sure what impact it would have on the angle of the steering wheel, need to shift the frame that holds the other end of the column first. when I tried it a few months ago it brought the wheel MUCH too close to your knees...
