Default Shortening the steering rack

Hello everyone

The book suggests that you need to shorten the steering rack to reduce bump steer. Has anyone done this, and if so how did you do it / how much success did you have?

I brought my steering rack extensions (from 3GE, a while ago now) and they are built to the book specification. Therefore as it stands my overall setup is too long, so I either need to shorten my extensions or shorten the rack. Obviously the former is easier but the latter would be preferable if it will improve the ride quality.

Cheers
Josh

Like what Phil says - it will be fine if the rack is mounted at a height at which the arms are parallel with the floor when the car is loaded. I did mine like that and got no bump steer that I could discern.
