Build order
Hey guys,
just finished painting my chassis (floor and all) and bones, If i was to put it on the suspension/wheels and put the engine/box in, how would that affect the rest of the build? off the top of my head would it make routing piping, wiring etc a pain? Cheers Will |

I've had the engine in and out lots of times. Don't expect to put it in and leave it.
Also you can't just leave the bones on as you will need to cut the side panels out ect. I've got an I beam over head, with a girder trolley and an electric hoist, I can get the engine out in about 10mins. |

Mines getting built and then taken appart anyway to finish things like wiring , brake routing, chassis painting, etc.
I have never had an intention to build once. for example. My seats were bought, mounted and have been in the loft for 2 years since. If I had fitted them and left them they woudl be in a dreadful state by now. TT

thanks for the input guys, i'm not overly fussed about taking the suspension off. its the engine in/out that i want to avoid.
My build has been painfully slow, i just want to get stuff in the chassis now!! i had been contemplating knocking it on the head recently unless i made some head way. Perhaps routing pipes and wires is the next sensible thing to do |

My engine went in and out when I was fabricating the engine mounts and positioning the engine. Afterwards I painted the chassis, riveted the floor, routed the brake lines. Then the engine went in again and I did the wiring.
I would sort out at least the attachments for brake and fuel lines prior to mounting the engine/transmission, but other than access in the tunnel and general weight of the whole car you should be fine. P.S. I pulled my engine twice to sort out an oil leak just weeks prior to my test...
