Frankly, the cost of your donor and chassis does not contribute much to the final cost. The cost will come from shocks, seats, GRP panels, instruments, exhaust manifold and can, wheels and tyres, fuel tank, polybushes, lights, and the various little things like brake pipe P-clips, trim, nuts and bolts. 3 grand is doable if you get more than a couple of those items for free or nearly. 4-5k if you buy budget stuff at list prices.

Anyone else noticed that the potential donor is advertised as an automatic?
How much pain/cash would be involved in swapping to a manual transmission? (assuming the OP wants a manual).

It's a 1.8CVH so flywheel, clutch and a type 9 and a spigot bearing.
