Jason,
I have no idea about that. I thought about it, and it is a bet. The can is from a modern motorbike (K13000R from 2010), so I hope it will pass the emission test here is in Sweden with my 2.0i DOHC, but can't be sure 100%.

I bought some stainless steel tubes and elbow and got them TIG welded by a professional welder.

I turned the clamp around and re-shaped it to have the muffler hanging, I think it is much better than my first idea.

Here are the pictures of the exhaust mounted on the Roadster. I think it looks pretty cool.

I might add another lower mounting point on the lower part of the muffler, I asked the welder to weld a bracket on the clamp for that, which he did.

Now, the surprise will be at the MOT (when the car is finished). Will the exhaust pass the noise and emissions test? Anyway, for now, I started the engine with the exhaust line fitted, and here is how it sounds and look when running:

One more time, Kev was right, I will need a deflector at the end of the muffler to protect the rear arch... I have my idea about that to make it look not too ugly...

To be continued...

Tell you what mate ...that sound effin bluddy good especially the the growl on the back pressure, if you are concerned about too much noise then fabricate a decibel killer to go in the end of the can
That was a good price for quality looking welds... you are cracking on bud, keep it up and you will be on the rod for next year easily

Sounds lovely just as the revs are dying down at the end, really tidy. I have bought a k&n 57i kit for my mx5, going for induction roar, rather than exhaust tone. I don't trust matey with the decibel machine.
