Default starter help!!

Hi all. Im sure this must have been covered but cant find anything anwhere!!! Im installing my engine- crossflow mated to type 9. But need to know what starter to buy. Any ideas please!!

Hello Mark,

Not a lot of replies to your call...

I can't really help you directly, but as you have posted here only once in March when you were asking some advices about your engine choice, I think people just don't remember you. Perhaps you could re-introduce yourself, tell us where you are located, and let us know at what stage of the build you are and even publish some pictures of your build.

Regarding your starter, I will ask a stupid question, but perhaps your answer will give us more informations about your actual problem: can't you use the starter from the car the Type 9 gearbox comes from? Or does it just not fit the Crossflow flywheel? And what about the Crossflow starter, doesn't it fit the type 9?

Type 9 may have pre engaged starter and old crossflow may have the old type inertia starter.


The possible reason for lack of replies is that most of the forum are too young to remember.
