I cant see why the diff would cause the reverse noise as the backlash and pinion mesh cannot change in the diff and can only think it is because you are turning all the gears in the wrong direction in the gearbox without synchro on reverse.

Looks like we'll never know...... the guy is planning on repairing the integra and keeping it.
An interesting topic to debate all the same! Perhaps another builder will try it in the future. Thanks again for the input guys. |

Hi there, also in Cork (Mallow). Would love to arrange to see other builders' cars who have held the hacksaw in anger! Steve |

Would love to keep this thread alive and try to get an answer as I have a B16 sitting in my garage. Love the engines and you can get a lot of reliable power from these light blocks.
I had given up and have almost totally decided on a 18DET from a 200sx but the bottom end problem on these always shows itself at the worst time. Any one got any idea on a diff that could be mounted the wrong way and resolve this issue? Alternativly has anyone looked in to the Honda K Series engines? Do they turn the right way and any ideas on how to get a bell housing for one of these? Last edited by dan_miles86 : 24th January 2010 at 01:48 AM. |

Like I've said, where are you going to get a bespoke bellhousing made for a B series? But on the helpful side regarding your diff question....
http://www.oz-clubbies.com/forums/in...l=differential I've not seen anything about putting a K20 series in either, but you do see F20 engines and boxes going in. |
